Ice Cream House of Concepcion Marikina

Summer is definitely here. I don’t really experience the summer heat on a daily basis since I am cooped up in the office most of the time, but during weekends, I do get a taste of the now-common hot, humid afternoons. Last week hubby and I went out to run some errands. We noticed this Ice Cream House on Bayan-bayanan St. Concepcion Marikina , right next to Parco Selections. We’ve seen in before but never really tried to go inside. The heat of the scorching sun on that particular day convinced us to give it a try.

The Ice Cream house is very welcoming, it is well-lit and its walls are adorned with huge mirrors, giving the place an illusion of being wider and bigger than it actually is. The store has no airconditioning. The set up inside is simple. No glass doors, just clean tables and chairs. Their motif is a combination of yellow and purple, two of my favorite colors! Yep, just looking at their store reminds me of ube and quezo ice cream… yum!

The wait for our orders was quite short, a good thing considering the place had a lot of customers at that time. =)

What surprised me the most is the fact that their goodies are so affordable! They sell ice cream in all shapes and sizes. Hubby and I shared a Tiramisu Magic which cost us P85. They had other goodies like: Banana Split (P89), Fruit Temptation (P85), Oreo Flurry (P69), Chewy Choco Fancy (P39), Stick A Choco (P59), Ice Cream Sandwich (P19) and even Shakes (P49). They also have ice cream in cups, cones and sticks for the young kids. If you want a heavier snack, they also offer pizzas of different flavors, available in solo and family sizes. For the health-conscious, they also have vegetarian pizzas.
I tried their spicy mushroom, while hubby tried their vegetarian ham pizza. It was not really fall-off-your-chair yummy, but definitely it was value for our money. We were able to eat a yummy and fulfilling snack, and it cost us only a little above a hundred pesos!

This was how our plates looked like after a couple of minutes, hahaha!

I also saw a branch of this Ice Cream House at the Riverbanks Mall. =) for those looking for good and affordable treats this summer, go ahead and give it a try! I highly recommend it!

our love story

Here I am, longingly gazing at you, at what you have to offer… I ‘m amazed…and impressed. Yep, there’s that familiar feeling at the pit of my stomach. I was expecting that. You stir up hunger in me that’s hard to describe, and difficult to suppress. A hunger that can only be satiated by you.

I can still remember the first time we met. Flashback to when I was still a little girl. I was with an aunt and you were introduced to me. I was shy at first. My aunt prodded me on.  I was timid in your presence. You smelled so good. After a while I started enjoying myself in your company. I cherished the time I spent with you. That memory is forever etched in my mind.

Fast forward to my college years. We met each other again. This time I was with friends. I was a naïve young lady. You were more experienced, more established. I felt intimidated. You have already captured the hearts of many, I can tell. Back then, young college girls of katipunan trooped to see you, some college guys too. That was how strong your appeal was.  You were a strong presence all throughout my college years. You were a staple part of our barkada. Graduation day came, we had to part…and then life happened.

Fast forward to present times, now I’m a wife and a mother. You’re still there. More well-known and recognized than ever. You still smell amazingly good. I still get to see you, sometimes with my family, often by my lonesome. Like today, here I am, gazing up at you…and at what you have to offer. You’ve definitely changed. You’re different, in a good way. You’ve adapted to my taste. You adjusted, not just for me, but for the Filipino People. you used to be so bland, now a single bite from your burger gives a welcome burst of flavor that sends my taste buds to nirvana.

I can still remember our song: two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun…

Hay Mcdo. who would ever thought that time will come when I will choose you over your competitor (which I thought would be my all time favorite)... hehehe =)

photo hunt :: four

Our Christmas Party last year was more organized as compared to the past years. we had presentations, games and even give aways. they gave us very appropriate objects as giveaways, smiley stress balls. =)
during moments that test my patience, i just glance at the smiley on my desk, and i can't help but smile back.
for this pic, i secretly gathered 3 other balls from other colleague's desks for a group pic...tada!

Scrappin' Good Time!

I’m just so excited that scrapping mojo is back! I feel artistic all of a sudden, plus the pressure of seeing so many pictures to be scrapped about, aahh! The scrapping rush is such a welcome feeling! Although I still take too long to finish a project, the satisfaction of seeing a finished product is priceless. I just love it.

Gotta scrap! Gotta scrap! Just can’t stop…!

Jasmine and Jorje are out!

Tonight's American Idol featured Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson.
The judges also revealed the latest twist in this season's Idol, that they have a one-time-only chance to save an idol hopeful should they find themselves in the bottom on the voting list. tonight however, they didn't demonstrate this rule innovation since all the judges chose not to save Jasmine Murray and Jorje Nunez.
In the other night's episode where they featured Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5's hits, Jasmine sang a very forgettable rendition on I'll Be There while Jorje made it almost painful for the audience to watch him sing Never Can Say Goodbye. I also felt a little bad about this because i think he is a pretty good singer. Too bad though he chose the wrong song.
My favorites Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Meagan Corkrey are still in the running, woohoo! I'm so excited to watch the next episode... we'll see what they will feature next.

photo hunt :: space

this pic was taken in clark pampanga. i just had to take a picture of the streets, because it is a sight i almost never see here in manila. a street with almost no cars! in my experience here in manila, during my daily commute to the makati, our highways turn into virtual parking lots. i am so used to heavy traffic that seeing a street with so much empty space is like a breath of fresh air!

Good Start for March

The month started right for me. I was not late. Woohoo! For the last couple of months, I was late for the first working day of the month… but not this time! In fact I was early. Hehehe… I have a good feeling for this month. I wanted to promise to myself no absences for this month, but this is not possible because we have to go to the DFA to file for our passport renewal and to get a new one for the little girl. Anyhoo… I will try my darnest to fight the temptation to be absent. Good luck to me! Hehehe.
