Best Places To Visit This Summer in the Philippines : Bohol

There are three things every visitor needs to do in Bohol:
  • see the Tarsiers, (The Philippine Tarsier is a tiny animal, measuring about 4 to 6 inches (15 cm) in height. The small size makes it difficult to spot);
  • visit the Chocolate Hills( The Chocolate Hills is an unusual geological formation in Bohol, Philippines.[1] It is composed of around 1,268 perfectly cone-shaped hills of about the same size, spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometres (20 sq mi). They are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, hence the name)
  • and have a sumptuous buffet meal while cruising along the Loboc River( Located in the Municipality of Loboc, a mere 24 kilometers away from Tagbilaran City, the winding river plays host to cruisers on board small bancas or floating restaurants. Visitors are treated to a vista of lush tropical vegetation such as nipa palms, coconut trees, banana groves, and bushes.)

Once you've ticked them off your to do list you may also choose to try a new hobby while in Bohol, bird watching perhaps. Bohol is also a favourite bird-watcher's destination in the Philippines. Famous of course is Olango Island, between Mactan Island and Bohol.

Another attraction of Bohol is the dolphin and whale watching activities on the Bohol Sea.

If you are a fan of history, you may also check out the Baclayon Church, the second oldest church in the Philippines. It is made of coral. It is one of the best presevered Jesuit build churches in the region, although in the 19th century, the Augustinian Recollects added a modern facade and a number of stone buildings that now surround the church.
